Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for an entire month. Things have been moving so quickly and they’ve been in turbo speed as I’ve been trying to get things together for the Independent Fashion Blogger Conference (IFBCON). I’m so excited as there are some great panels, speakers (such as Iman), and I will get to spend some time with other bloggers for several days in New York.
One of the best parts of IFBCON is picking out outfits! I’ve been busy shopping and have put together several ideas. I have more outfits than time in New York, so not sure which ones I’m actually going to wear yet. I thought I’d give you a preview of a couple that I’ve put together. There will be a full report (hopefully with some actual outfit shots) when I return at the end of the week.
I have to give a special shout out to Flagship USA, a new Milwaukee boutique who loaned me some of their gorgeous jewelry from Acquatica and a great George Gina & Lucy bag. You’ll hear more about them in an upcoming post.
I’m meeting some other great bloggers for dinner on Monday night, so have the outfit below as one of my dinner possibilities. I picked up everything this past week except for the shoes which I purchased last summer.
- Dress from Rachel Roy at Macy’s
- Resin bone collar necklace at Express
- Envelope clutch at Aldo
- Belt at the Limited
- Shoes from Rachel Roy at Macy’s (from summer)
- Bracelet and ring from Acquatica at Flagship USA
The next outfit is one of my considerations for one of the conference days. I love the mix of the peplum top with the wine colored vegan leather skirt. Sophisticated, but still fun.
- Peplum top from Macy’s (several months old)
- Skirt from The Limited
- Art deco inspired necklace from Express
- Bracelet from The Limited
- Gold earrings are old
- Belt from The Limited
- Shoes from BCBG (last year)
Another consideration for a conference day. I love the print of this vintage Single dress that I picked up at Lela Boutique in Milwaukee. Single is an intriguing label as they specialize in one-of-a-kind prints made from original artwork. As their designer Galina used to walk the runway with Iman, seemed fitting to wear to hear Iman speak at the conference!
