A Day in the Life of a GG&L Bag

Flagship USA recently gave me the opportunity to test drive a funky George Gina & Lucy (GG&L) bag from their curated collection. I was really liking all of the hardware that gave the bag it’s own edgy personality and my upcoming trip to New York seemed like the perfect time to try it out.

My trip was to the Independent Fashion Blogger’s Conference (IFBCON)  in New York and I would need a bag that not only looked great, but could also hold everything I needed to get through my long days.  Could this funky bag hold up to the practicality test ?

My day started off in my whimsical room at the Mondrian Soho.  My outfit was ready so it was time for a real test of the bag.

The front zip pocket is fully functional and unzipped to reveal the perfect spot to put necessities that needed to be easy to grab such as my phone and credit cards. The outer pocket on top of this area (see above) worked great for business cards. There’s also a back zip pocket that I ended up using later for my phone as it easier to take in and out.

Ok, so that was the easy part.  Since I’d be out all day, it needed to fit all my essentials including a jacket, tablet, flats, coconut water, umbrella and my camera. I was delighted to see that bag expanded nicely and everything fit without having to strain the zipper.

The rugged canvas was a nice touch as I wasn’t worried about it getting scuffed or dirty when I needed to set it down, while the fun detailing kept it from looking like I was carrying around a piece of luggage.  The bag was able to go from conference to dinner and finally the IFBCON after party.

If you’re in the Milwaukee area you can pick up your own at the Flagship USA store in the Grand Avenue Mall.  The bag is currently retailing for $180 and is available in black in store and 17 other colors upon request.  Since Flagship’s ecommerce site won’t be up for another month yet, they would be happy to ship you the color of your choice if you live outside the area.  Contact Flagship USA through their Facebook page for more information.
