Prabal Gurung for Target

Tomorrow’s the big day! The Prabal Gurung collection for Target is available! If you’ve been following along on the Barely Practical Facebook page, you already know that I’m in love with this collection and am planning on hitting the store first thing Sunday morning.

I first fell in love with Prabal Gurung’s designs in his Spring 2012 collection. The gorgeous prints and sleek fabrics were modern and beautiful. His pictures instantly filled my Pinterest Spring 2012 inspiration board.

When the Target collaboration was announced last fall, I was overjoyed to be able to have a chance to own some of his designs at a more moderate price point. The full lookbook shows some similar cuts and prints to the collection I loved so much from last Spring. It’s inspired by a woman’s journey through love, such as the first date, first kiss, and meeting the parents.

There are 42 looks in all, but I have several favorites that I’ve added to my own shopping list for tomorrow.

While most pieces are going to be available in stores, the shoes will only be available online. I’m going to order some to check them out, but to be honest I’m not yet sure if I’ll keep them. I’ve been trying to stay away from cheap shoes as they hurt my feet, but I’m going to at least give these a try as they’re so cute.

I love love the floral crush print dress too and that was the main reason why I got up and got to Target way before 8 am to pick it up. Unfortunately my local Target did not carry that style, but I had a friend at another store who picked it up for me. When I tried it on, I was so disappointed because even though it was my correct size, it looked too poofy on me and seems like it was designed for taller people. But, the other purchases I got, the lace up pumps, Nolita print skirt, and the Meet the Parents dress did not disappoint at all. The lace up pumps didn’t hurt my feet at all.

I wrote about the Prabal launch too… check it out if you have time:

I was disappointed too that there weren’t as many styles available in stores as I had though. Sounds like you got a great selection! I’ll definitely stop over by your blog and check out your post :)
