It was a night to celebrate in Milwaukee with two Milwaukee designers chosen for season 12 of Project Runway. A party was thrown in Miranda Levy’s honor at the Intercontinental Hotel and for Timothy at the Pfister Hotel with a chance for people to mingle and talk to both designers. While there was some healthy rivalry, I talked to many people who, like myself, attended both parties or chose to ride the shuttles back and forth.
We got to Miranda’s party a little early and got a chance to see some of the models in her designs as well as catch up with Miranda. She had some great stories to share.
I really like her designs as they have a retro inspiration, but still feel modern and very wearable. I’d love a chance to wear something of hers to one of our local fashion events some day.
We also got a chance to chat with some of Miranda’s supporting cast. We met Shari Allison, a Stella & Dot stylist who provided the jewelry for Miranda to wear on the show. She had some of the pieces that Miranda had worn as well as other fun pieces for sale. I also found out that Lynee Ruiz, who I know best as the blogger behind The Fashionista on Milwaukee Magazine cut and colored Miranda’s hair to help her look fabulous. Bjorn Nassett of Fashion Farmboy was there to run Q&A for Miranda and was also doing a little filming of his own for an upcoming project.
There were lots of fun moments and I even found out after the fact that I had grabbed a picture of blogger Livia Borger of I Love Nola. There’s a Facebook album full of pictures from the party on the Barely Practical Facebook page so stop by and check them out.
Next stop was Timothy Westbrook’s party so stop back on Monday evening to get the full story. You can also get new blogs posts sent directly to your inbox by clicking the subscribe link on the left side of the blog or connecting through Bloglovin.
