I’m continuing the series of posts from Miami’s Delano hotel this week. The gorgeous garden is just too fun to not take advantage for some photo shoots. This was the fourth year we’ve stayed there and we continue to be inspired by the atmosphere.
We spent our days in Miami exploring. If you’ve never been to South Beach, it’s similar to Las Vegas in the fact that there are a row of hotels on the main strip and each one has restaurants, clubs, and beautiful areas to check out. The big difference I feel is that many of the hotels in Miami are more about design and atmosphere while the Las Vegas ones are more about themes and attractions. This is a bit of a generalization, but overall fits.
Lots of walking means a good pair of flats and because days in Miami were hot – usually in the 90s – picking outfits for daytime that were loose and comfy was important. However, I wasn’t willing to sacrifice style for comfort so opted for pieces that had interesting elements such as color and texture. The flowy neon pink top has an interesting side ruffle and the white mini skirt has whimsical embroidered flowers. I probably should have belted the look to give it more of a waist, but letting it flow was my compromise to deal with the heat.
I used accessories to pull the look together and add some sparkle. I picked up the Nine West helixa sandals recently (they’ve had some amazing sandal sales) and the bracelet you might recognize as a Wantable piece scene at the last Timothy Westbrook show. Wantable has continued to build on their accessory offerings and I’ll show you the contents of my latest box in a post sometime next week. The earrings and the pink cocktail ring have been in my accessory collection for some time.
