We’re back home in Milwaukee now, but I have one last post to share from my time in Miami. Every night we made a point of dressing up and trying a new food experience either from the Miami Spice event going on or a place our concierge recommended. It was a great excuse to pull out some of the more fashion-forward outfits I’ve been picking up throughout the year.
The dress below was an amazing find from British fashion site ASOS. Their ASOS Black label had collaborated with Lauren McCalmont in 2012 to produce a line of dresses. I wasn’t suprised to learn that Lauren had worked with Peter Pilotto in the past, as the dress reminded me of something I’d see in one of his shows. I instantly fell in love with this dress as the print reminded me of the ocean; finding it in my size on clearance then sealed the deal. The beautiful printed organza paired with zippers and a sporty mesh bottom made for a modern fashion- forward dress that stands out from the crowd.
I’d been eyeing up a pair of B Brian Atwood white mesh booties all season, and this dress coupled with a sale on the booties pushed me to pull the trigger on the purchase. The mesh booties with their silver spike heels couldn’t have been more perfect for the dress. These booties have been put to good use, as you’ve seen from my Modern Mod post earlier this week. I chose to complete the outfit with the sleek, simple Prabal Gurung for Target earrings and bracelet.
Instead of just the usual poses, we decided to give a little glimpse of our room and luxurious mini bar that took up one of the corners. The large white box in the background contained full shelves of sweet and salty snacks and the top silver box contained glassware for mixing drinks and ice. It had just about everything you could ever want in a mini bar.
