Saturday night I had the privilege of attending the Lela Boutique 10 year anniversary. It was an amazing event full of fashionably dressed people – many who had bought their outfits at the store throughout the years. I’ve shopped there myself for many years and you may have seen my previous Lela Boutique blog post.
One of the highlights of the night was the collaboration between Lela, artist Reginald Baylor, and 11 designers. The designers each took five yards of fabric featuring original artwork from Reginald and created a look for the Lela Anniversary Collection. Each of the pieces created will be available for purchase and you can find more information on Lela’s Facebook page.
This event was really more about connecting with friends and celebrating with Lela so we didn’t get as many pictures as some nights, but we did get a few of the outfits created.
The outfit below was created by Bjorn Nasett from FashionFarmboy. It featured some great details and accessories that made the outfit. I thought the gloves were also a fun touch.
This dress was designed by a group of instructors from the Art Institute of Wisconsin – Lynne Dixon-Speller, Donna Marie Parker, and Shannon Novy. We get to see the talent of the students in local shows such as the Haute List event earlier this year, but it’s rare we get to see work from the teachers.
The last looks we got a chance to capture were from Linda Marcus Designs (right) and Miranda Levy(left). You’ve seen Miranda’s work on Project Runway lately, but Lela has been carrying her since 2012.
One of the advantages of having the event at the store was to squeeze in a little bit of shopping. I’m infatuated with this coat. The detailing and the draping are incredible. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but there are buttons everywhere and you can adjust all the draping depending on how you want to wear it.
I love what Lela has brought us over the last 10 years and can’t wait to see what the next 10 will bring. Happy Anniversary!!
