Plastic bags, dinosaurs, fashionable dogs, and rock icons are just a couple of the things awaiting Milwaukee’s fashion crowd over the next couple of weeks. There’s so much going on so I thought I’d highlight some must add events for your calendar.
First up is RedLine Milwaukee’s Fusion Fashion Show on Friday, September 20th. This show will be featuring the gorgeous creations made out of recycled materials such as plastic bags and shower curtains that you saw earlier in this year in my Repurposed Runway Sneak Peek post . In addition to seeing the winners of the design contest, you’ll also see fashions from Kelvin Haydon, Julia Tiedt, Redat Davison, and Aeran Park. I’ve featured Kelvin Haydon’s designs on the blog before, but I’m not familiar with the other designers and am looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. You can purchase tickets online at Eventbrite.
Next up on Saturday night, the 21st is Timothy Westbrook’s new show Paleontology of a Woman. I’m excited to see Timothy’s new work mixed in with the dinosaurs of the Milwaukee Public Museum. Timothy’s shows never disappoint and there are plenty of previous Timothy Westbrook posts on the blog to get a feel for his work if you’re not familiar. It’s also important to note that prices for the show recently dropped significantly so take another look if you passed it by earlier.
Sunday, the 22nd kicks off our first Milwaukee Fashion Week. Brought to you by the people who run FM Fashionable Mags, Milwaukee UpMarket, and FashionFarmboy.com, it should prove to be a week to remember. Each day features something new with events during the day and evening. There’s some really unique events including the Top Dog Runway show (who doesn’t love dogs in cute outfits), Wearable Art Model Show, Men’s Night of Style, and Music Icon Night (dress as your favorite music icon), and many more. Check out the website to buy tickets and get the full schedule.
In addition to covering the shows, we’re going to be on the lookout for some of Milwaukee’s best shoes. We’ll be getting pictures all week and adding them to a best of Milwaukee shoe album. Be sure to find us is you’re rocking a killer pair of shoes during the event!
