Shoe Lover’s Gift Guide

While the obvious gift for someone who loves shoes is, well, shoes, they’re not exactly the easiest things to buy for others. Shoes for the shoe-lover are more about art than function, and beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder. Fit is another factor that can vary wildly. So unless you have a list of the shoes that someone wants, you might want to choose a shoe themed gift instead.

I rounded up some of my favorite items that you might want to grab for the shoe fanatic in your life. They’re perfect for the holidays, birthdays, or just because.

At the top of my list are these gorgeous designer pumps from Gayle’s Chocolates. Chocolate and shoes are two of my favorite things and they’re perfectly combined here.

A subscription to Shoeholics magazine is another great idea. This glossy full color magazine features new shoe designers, fashion editorials, and some really gorgeous shoes. Published quarterly, it’s a fine addition to a shoe lover’s library.

For something a bit more out of the ordinary, check out Claudia Lynch ShoeStories featuring gorgeous water color cards, invitations, and prints that each contain a beautiful shoe and a quirky story to go with it. You can also get the full set combined into a book. One word of caution – you might want to be careful who you give these to as the stories are full of double meanings and narrated from the perspective of a 1940’s skirt-chasing detective. Fun for the right person, but probably not for your 14 year-old niece.

Another great coffee table accessory is Art & Sole by Jane Gershon Weitzman, wife of shoe designer Stuart Weitzman. It’s a beautiful collection of shoe art that will inspire and delight.

If you really want to go all out, who wouldn’t love to kick back in a plush high heel? You can find high heel chairs or if you’re feeling practical, a high heel storage chair.  They come in an array of colors for every style.

If you’re feeling unsure, gift cards still work. I highlighted a couple of great shoe sites that are off the beaten path that carry some really fun shoes.

Aberrant Sole  – unique beautiful shoes

ShoeDazzle – personalized shoe club

Nasty Gal – their Shoe Cult collection is amazing and has a great variety of price points
