Saturday Shoe Sales 1-25-2014

I’ve been trying to move towards themes for the Saturday shoe sales posts so they’re a little more informational and fun to read, but I have to admit that I failed for this one. It’s been bitterly cold here in Wisconsin and I’ve been dreaming of warmer climates and looking at sandals. However, as I comb through the clearance deals I keep getting distracted because there is so much selection right now. So let’s just say that this week’s picks are sandal inspired. One word of warning, many of the deals I found today were so exceptional there were only 1 or 2 sizes left. I’d normally prefer to feature something that has a little more selection, but some of these finds were almost too good to be true so I wanted to share.

My first pick are these Givenchy cone heel sandals. Now for those of you who follow trends, you may recognize these from the Spring 2013 collection. While it’s always fun to have the latest and greatest styles, the right shoe that’s beautiful and looks good on you will always be a good investment. If you’re looking to maximize your shoe budget, end of season sales or the rare finds that are a full year old are treasures for your closet. I’ve been lusting after this style ever since it came out and I made it the cover of my Spring 2013 Fashion Inspiration Pinterest board. If you’re lucky enough to wear a size 8.5, these are an amazing buy right now at only $389 (originally $1290).

One of the things I always look for is the mythological fashionable comfort shoe. I have shoes that are fairly comfortable, but many of my most stylish heels I would’t want to be walking in all day. I recently found out that some of Cole Haan’s shoes have Nike air technology built into them. I originally spotted these Cole Haan Air Vanessa ankle strap sandals and thought they’d be perfect for spring with the woven top, raffia trim, and a simple platform to offset the stiletto heel. I was thrilled to see that they also had the Nike Air technology! At 30% off it’s a great time to give them a try.

Similar to florals in spring and summer, there’s something about fall that always makes me want to pull out plaid. With 90s grunge coming back into fashion and the recent focus on punk inspired fashion, plaid is still a wardrobe staple. These L’Autre Chose sling-backs are great for the office, but would look just as cute with a pair of jeans and a preppy sweater for an afternoon of shopping. If you want to be fashion forward, try pairing them with a ripped up pair of jeans, plaid shirt (don’t worry your plaids don’t have to match), and some fun jewelry to put a girlish spin on grunge. A real steal right now for only $95 (originally  $217).

My last pick is a true vision of summer fun that keeps reminding me that warmer days are ahead. These Stella McCartney open-toe mules would be groovy with a long flowy dress and some large hoop earrings. I really like the cooler blue/green combo but they also come in a fiery red/orange that would brighten up any summer night. While platform mules normally tend to be a little more casual, the satin covering lends them to dressy outfits as well. Originally $690, $195 will get you a little closer to your summer dreams.
