It’s time for another Saturday Shoe Sales blog post. This week I’ve searched the virtual sale racks looking for a good neutral shoe that’s fit to take you into spring.
In addition to loving shoes, I’m also a foodie. I love to experience different flavors, textures, and smells. Many times in a multi-course meal, a palette cleanser is offered. This is usually a simple, neutral course such as sorbet or cheese to help cleanse out strong flavors from previous dishes so you’ll be able to experience the next course without any lingering distractions.
Fall and winter are full of rich colors and textures and I’ve enjoyed them immensely. However, it’s time to move on and I want a simple neutral shoe to help me clear my mind and prepare me for the pretty pastels and neon brights that spring and summer will bring.
Neutral, however does not mean boring. These shoes are still full of details and textures ranging from canvas to crochet to snakeskin. I started with Neiman Marcus Last Call as they have a great sale going on right now – 40-50% off clearance and 25% off spring styles, plus an extra 10% off those sale prices this weekend. Crazy good prices!
The first (and my favorite of the group) is the Sam Edelman Yara Sandal. This shoe is all about the details, from the gunmetal bling to the lucite block heel. It stretches the definition of neutral since it has so much going on, but the soft sand and white coloring keep it looking very clean. They would be stunning this summer with a simple white shift dress or right now to balance out a pair of green checkered ankle pants and a crisp white blouse. Originally $200, you can scoop them up this week for approximately $100.
These Pour La Victoire Kiran 2 ankle strap pumps are another great find. The canvas material is perfect for spring and the bits of pastel patent leather around the edges give them just a touch of sweetness. They’d beautifully balance out a soft floral dress for spring. Originally $275, they’re a great bargain right now at $95.17.
For more of a handmade feel, try this Vince Camuto Signature Bellini Sandal. They have the height of a stiletto, and according to Vince Camuto, the comfort of a slipper. The stretchy cotton upper is supposed to fit your foot like a glove and sounds wonderful for those of us with high arches and wide feet. The neutral textured shoe would add interest to a solid pastel colored ankle pant and a spring sweater.
Walking through Saks Fifth Avenue’s shoe department always makes my eyes tear up from all of the beautiful shoes. However, Saks Off 5th is always a little friendlier to my wallet. They’re also having a great shoe sale right now with an extra 40% off giving savings of up to 60% on shoes.
Neutral doesn’t always have to mean tan colored shoes. These Vince Camuto Ren strappy mixed media sandals in black with white snakeskin are clean and straightforward. The straps are sexy and fun and add texture without being too wild. They also come in camel colored snakeskin if the nude color palette is more pleasing to you. They’re an incredible bargain at only $62.99 and would be the perfect with any brightly colored dress for spring.
