Designer Deals

I love luxury designer shoes. The feel of good quality materials, the smell of fine leather, and the beauty of a great design make a complete experience that is rarely fulfilled by some of the more budget-friendly brands. My closet is a mix of high to low-end brands, but I’ve been adding on more luxury designer shoes by utilizing some of the great sales online. I tend to stalk some of the ones that I truly love all year by utilizing sites like Lyst or ShopStyle to set sale alerts.

Many times you can get the best deal if you’re willing to buy from an “All Sales Final” clearance section. This can be a risk when shopping online if you’ve never seen the shoes in person or tried them on. The best way to mitigate this is to regularly try on shoes in stores so you’re familiar with specific designers and fit. It also helps to know how certain types of shoes tend to fit your feet. Worst case scenario, if it’s a true luxury brand shoe and it doesn’t fit you can always sell it on eBay.

For this week’s weekend deals post I decided to focus on Barney’s Warehouse. Right now they happen to have an extra 30% off the marked clearance price of their shoes, which can save you hundreds of dollars. Prices below show the full price, clearance price, and what they would come out to with the extra 30% off.

These Phillip Lim Cody d’Orsay style sandals feature a soft blue fish-skin texture. The block heel and pastel color are right on trend and this would be a unique shoe to add some punch to an simple pant suit for the office. D’orsay style shoes (basically when the side is cut away to reveal the arch of the foot) are all over right now and provide a fun asymmetrical twist to a basic pump or sandal.

Alexander Wang is quickly becoming one of my favorite shoe designers and I love the modern spin of his styles. These Alexander Wang Adina sandals have a unique harness-like strap coming up to the ankle and have a grey flannel covering. They would look amazing with jeans or a midi skirt and sweater for a laid back, but chic Saturday afternoon.

These Derek Lam Meryl wedges absolutely pop and are super sexy with their translucent straps. The wedges will help with stability and comfort and the back zip will make them easy to get on and off. If you want the look but want to tone it down a bit, they also come in black.

The claw heel is what really makes these Walter Steiger peep-toe oxfords. This shape is a signature feature of the designer and is supposed to help better balance the heel overall. Besides the heel, the mixed canvas and patent leather are a nice touch and the hidden platform will help to balance the 6 inch heel. These are an incredible price point right now, so if you’ve been wanting to try out one of Walter Steiger’s claw heels, now’s your chance.
